18 Months

The months keep slipping by, and our Kadence Grace has reached another milestone age -- 18 months!  We visited the doctor on Monday to make sure the little lady is healthy inside and out ...

Weight = 23# 12 oz. (40%)
Height = 32" (60%)
Head = 18-1/2" (60%)

Kadence's height is finally coming down from the 90th %ile.  She may not outgrow Calvin in the height department after all!  The doctor gave us kudos for the potty training, and for keeping our carseat in the rear-facing position.  Kadence also got tooth varnish at this visit - it was a yummy bubblegum flavor, but she was not a big fan of the painting on process.

Calvin was a good big brother at the clinic.  He found a couple fairy stickers for Kadence at the end of the appointment (and about 8 truck stickers for himself).  He also impressed the doctor and nurse by reciting his favorite opposite words.

Things to remember about Kadence at 18 months old ~

You sleep soundly 11 or 12 hours through the night surrounded by five stuffed animals and 3 blankets.  Daddy tucks you in at night and makes sure your favorite dolly is right beside you.

You wake up hungry in the morning!  Of course, you want a cookie bar and water just like your brother.

You have so many teeth!  Your top and bottom first molars came in about 2 months ago, and now your top and bottom canines are erupting.  You are a little bit of a biter these days!

Although you're still a little picky, you are starting to eat a bigger variety of foods.  Green beans and hotdogs are pretty tasty to you.  But, you still prefer yogurt, oatmeal and peanut butter over other choices.

Riding in the car is a drag for you.  You're tired of not having a view, and your little legs are getting crunched with the carseat in the rear-facing position.  Only 6 more months until you get a better view.

You love the swings at the park!  You also love trying to climb on all the big kid equipment with Calvin.

When Daddy gets home at night, you run to him as fast as you can, saying "hi, hi, hi, hi" the whole way.

You are doing awesome with potty training!  Sometimes you say "potty" or go to the bathroom when you need to go.  You like it when mommy sings songs to you while you try to pee.

You are saying many words, but "no" is your favorite (by far!).

You're such a sweet girl.  Can't you just stay 18 months old a little longer???
