Disappointment

It hurts my heart when you are sad, Calvin.  You did a great thing today ... you passed a really tough swimming test at the outdoor pool that was supposed to allow you access to the big waterslides.  You diligently practiced floating on your back and on your stomach (with you face in the water!) for an hour, and passed the test on your first try.  I was so proud of you.  You raced up the stairs of the slide as fast as your little legs would let you only to be sent back down because of being 2" too short.  The look of disappointment on your face made me want to cry.  I wish I could make it better (or make you grow taller faster), but I can't ... and it sucks.
