This little guy isn't so little anymore. It's hard believe he's knocking on the door of the big 0-5 in just a few short months. Calvin is as busy as ever, which in turn keeps Mom and Dad as busy as ever! Here's the 4 yr 9 mo update on Mr. Calv --
- What a swimmer we have! Calvin passed the Ray swimming class after his first session. He can swim half the length of the pool, jump off the diving board and recover to the wall, and tread water for 30 seconds! Go, Calvin!!
- Summer is here and Calvin will try his hand at softball and soccer. He's looking forward to Daddy volunteering as a soccer coach too.
- Calvin will graduate from preschool next week and is looking forward to his summer break before starting half-day kindergarten in the fall. He's almost mastered the alphabet, and needs just a little help recognizing the "hard letters" (G, H, J, Q, Y).
- Favorite tv shows: Curious George, Rescue Bots, He-Man, Dino Squad, and Discovery Channel shows about snacks, spiders and wild animals.
- Favorite food: pretty much everything, but DQ ice cream is probably at the top of his list.
- The sleeping situation is ever improving. Calvin is weaning off afternoon naps and goes to sleep in his own bed. He usually ends up in our room at 3/4 a.m. and enjoys the rest of his snooze on our bedroom floor.
- Favorite pastimes: Playing with cousins, digging in the sandbox, hanging out with dad, helping mom garden, riding bike, swimming at the Y, batting practice, and burning off energy at the park.
- Calvin weighs 42# and is almost 43" tall.
- Career aspirations: building skyscrapers! Maybe he'll take after Great-Grandpa Krenelka and work as a civil engineer.
- Calvin's new funny routine is sneaking downstairs to get dressed by himself in the morning. He then comes to find mom or dad to surprise with his outfit. I love how he always picks socks to match his pants!
- What I love about Calvin in this moment -- his extreme affection for me and daily requests for hugs and kisses. What a sweetie!
