Little Farm Hands
On Saturday, we accompanied the Loxtercamp crew to Gale Woods Farm where we enjoyed some outdoor fun on a real working farm. The day was beautiful for such an adventure -- sunny and 70's! For the first time this year, we lathered up in sunscreen. We started our tour of the farm in the chicken coop. The kids enjoyed trying to pet the birds, feeding them lettuce, and gathering their eggs. From there, we visited the sheep and lambs, which was my favorite stop. The young lambs were very curious and didn't mind getting up close and personal. We were even able to hold a very small lamb that was only 1 week old. Next up was the pigs. Unfortunately, the piglets were a bit sleepy and only came out from their resting stop for a quick nibble of bread. And last by not least, we visited Peel, the Jersey cow, and her young calf. Such beautiful creatures! After a little more running around, snack, and potty break, we piled back in the car to head back home. What a great way to spend a Saturday!
