Learning about the Life Cycle

Calvin has taken an interest in caterpillars and butterflies this summer.  He likes to catch them, "play" with them, and keep them as his pets (until Eric or I start feeling bad and free them).  Naturally, this led to me actually purchasing caterpillars online, which you can then watch as they turn into a crysalis and butterfly.  It took about 3 weeks for Calvin's caterpillars to transform themselves.  It was an interesting project and hard for Calvin to let them go in the end.  I can only wonder what bug/reptile/rodent we'll be raising next!
